Jaw Bone Grafting / Ridge Augmentation / Guided Bone Regeneration
A ridge augmentation procedure is designed to restore jaw bone that has been lost as a result of tooth extraction, gum disease, trauma, or other factors. This procedure helps create a solid foundation for dental implants or improves the esthetic appearance of the jawline. The purpose of this procedure is to help create a bone profile that mimics as naturally as possible the jaw prior to extraction of the teeth. However, there are limitations to how much this procedure can accomplish and that the final result, in some cases, will be a compromise of what appeared prior to the loss of the tooth.
